Rapper Troy Ave Arrested In Connection To Shooting At T.I. Concert

Friday, 27 May 2016

Of course you’ve all heard by now that there was a deadly shooting at T.I.’s concert. But who exactly was involved? Brooklyn rapper, Troy Ave, has been pointed out as the gunman in question on the surveillanace video of the shooting.

Word on the street is that Troy Ave pulled his gun out and opened up fire backstage at the concert. Troy, who originally hails from Brownsville, mistakenly shot himself in the leg after he opened fire.

Police have reported that Troy was charged with attempted murder as well as 2 counts of criminal possession of a deadly weapon.  His charge will be dependent upon the results of the ballistics test. A ballistics test is the “science of mechanics that deals with the launching, flight, behavior, and effects of projectiles, especially bullets, gravity bombs, rockets, or the like; the science or art of designing and accelerating projectiles so as to achieve a desired performance,” according to Wikipedia.

Apparently, Troy Ave and Maino were beefing. Maino hails from the Bedstuy area of Brooklyn. He was one of the many performers on the bill performing at the concert.

DailyNew.com is reporting that “Maino had just left the stage when his rival blasted at least five shots with a 9-mm handgun in a green room above the stage.”

According to the video footage the gunman forced himself into the backstage area and opened fire.  A source close to police said, “He walks right out, women all around, and starts shooting his gun. It’s an ongoing rap group rivalry, him and Maino.”

Troy Ave, also known as Ronald Collins, 30, was detained at NYU Langone Medical Center.
PLOT TWIST: Not only did Troy accidently shoot himself but he ended up shooting and killing his best friend at the same time, Ronald (Edgar) McPhattter.

It’s not exactly clear how Troy accidentally killed McPhatter. But the victim’s mother spoke out and said: “He actually cared a lot about Troy Ave. My wish is that Troy Ave cared as much about my son as he cared about him. I say that because I watched how my son would always bend over backwards to help him. If he (Troy Ave) cared about my son as much as he alleged he does, I would’ve received a call from him. He didn’t call me. He didn’t call any of my other sons.”

The Daily News also reported: “City Councilman Jumaane Williams and others who knew McPhatter, said he is shown in the video entering the green room behind Troy Ave and then running past him as the rapper blasts the room.”

McPhatter was shot in the stomach, stumbled down a flight of stairs and collapsed near a bar. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital.
