Sex Tape Lawsuit: Hulk Hogan May Get $345M More

In case you don’t already know, Hulk Hogan was awarded a hefty settlement package of $115M for the unauthorized release of his sex tape. While this may sound like a large sum of money, it looks like Hulk may be getting some more cheese.

Gawker, who is responsible for posting the sex tape, may get hit with more fees for punitive damages after the Florida jury is done.  The money that Hogan was awarded was for compensatory damages alone. These punitive damages are separate and have everything to do with punishing for intentional wrongdoing.

TMZ is reporting that “The Florida Supreme Court generally tolerates punitive damage awards that are 2 to 3 times the amount of compensatory damages. Anything more than 3 times is dicey … the Court often slices excessive judgments down to size.”

Now, you do the math. If Hulk Hogan does, in fact, get rewarded for punitive damages, he will be taking home $345M. Yes, this is on top of the $115M he already got. That makes the grand total almost half a billion dollars.

Yo Hulk, aren’t you already collecting checks from your WWF days?  There is no way you need ALL that money. Can we have a few stacks, please?  Make checks payable to Smack Urban Radio LLC. Thanks.
