Azealia Banks has really rubbed some folks the wrong way, especially recently. Her slew of racist and homophobic comments made via Twitter directed at former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, have finally gotten her in trouble.

Banks’ Twitter account has finally been suspended. Most folks are probably saying “it’s about time.” If any Twitter user engages in behavior which can be considered abusive, they can be locked out of their accounts.
Zayn Malik, who is of English and Pakistani descent, endured slurs from Banks like, “the token sand n—a from 1D.”

A Twitter representative told The Daily News: “We do not comment on individual accounts, for privacy and security reasons.”  This was clearly the final straw for Twitter though. Last month Banks made some questionable remarks about Sarah Palin stating the “the biggest burliest blackest” men should “run a train” on Palin.  Not only has her account been suspended but she has also been pulled from headlining the Rinse FM’s Born & Bred Festival which takes place out in the UK.

According to The Daily News: “Rinse | Born & Bred Festival is a celebration of rave culture and has been created for EVERYONE. We celebrate inclusivity and equality.”

Azealia issued an apology to those that expected to see her perform at the festival and also explained why she was furious with Zayn Malik.  Banks is claiming that Malik stole her style and look for his latest video that he put out.

“I said what I said to Zayn because I was angry. He felt as if he was too good to acknowledge me yet not to (sic) good to copy my creativity. I had to remind him that we were both in the same boat in this industry and people of color.”

Here’s what we are going to need Azealia Banks to do: make music! Nothing else.
