As you all know, last week Kendrick Lamar dropped a surprise album on us called Untitled Unmastered.
According to the Billboard 200 charts, his album is set to move almost 170,000 units this week. The Billboard 200 Chart tells us the ranking of the most popular albums of that week and how it is doing in comparison to other albums that were released at the same time. We will find out what those picks are on Sunday, the 13th. Folks are predicting that Lamar will hold down the #1 spot.
According to Billboard.com, “‘Untitled Unmastered‘ follows Lamar’s first No. 1, ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’, which was released on March 16, 2015, after little advance notice. To Pimp a Butterfly flew in at No. 1 with 363,000 equivalent album units in its first week, of which 324,000 were in pure album sales.”
Kendrick dropped the digital version of ‘Untitled Unmastered‘ on March 4 and is set to drop the actual CD on March 11. And on March 18 we can expect an edited version as well.
Other albums that are due to do well are 2 Chainz’ ColleGrove.
